COVID-19 and critical care

Ref. 169003
CategoryHealth
Une formation accélérée (2h) aux b.a.-ba de la ventilation artificielle et aux spécificités de prise en charge des patients COVID
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Languages: French

Description

In the current epidemiological context, facing a significant influx of patients with severe respiratory impairment related to SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), we need to provide accelerated training tools for the management of acute respiratory failure in these patients in order to bring as many healthcare professionals up to speed as possible.

This is the whole purpose of this course, in the form of a "mini MOOC" requiring a maximum of 2 hours of time investment.

It is divided into two parts: a first part on the basics of artificial ventilation, and a second on the specifics of the management of a possible or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the ICU.

The videos in the first part correspond to a selection of videos from the EIVASION (Enseignement Innovant de la Ventilation Artificielle par la SimulatION / Innovative Teaching of Artificial Ventilation by Simulation) MOOC, available in two parts on FUN MOOC :

  1. "Artificial Ventilation: Fundamentals"
  2. "Artificial Ventilation: Advanced Level"

We strongly recommend that you work through the "COVID-19 and Critical Care" course in full, and then, if you still have time and interest, that you enrol in the EIVASION MOOC. If you are taking this course right now, it is because the urgent epidemiological situation requires that you be trained as quickly as possible.

As you will see, many of the videos were filmed ‘at the bedside of a simulator’ with an interactive multi-camera take. Don't hesitate to change your angle of view with a single click while viewing.

The videos in the second part were shot by teams of the Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP, France) involved in the fight against COVID-19 and the Société de Réanimation de Langue Française (French Intensive Care Society) (SRLF).

Format

The course should take at most 2 hours.

With its original format, this ‘mini-MOOC’ aims to transmit essential skills as little time as possible.

Prerequisites

This "mini-MOOC" is intended for anyone who may need to provide medical care for a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 involving respiratory distress and/or anyone seeking an accelerated refresher course on their basic knowledge of artificial ventilation.

Assessment and certification

There will be a quiz after each video. These are easy questions, designed to help you memorize what you have just seen.

There is no certificate of completion on this course.

Course plan
