Bhen Sikina Toguebaye is a professor of parasitology at the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques at Cheikh Anta DIOP University in Dakar (Senegal) and president of the Scientific Commission for Strategy and Foresight at the Senegalese National Academy of Sciences and Techniques.
Since completing most of his studies in France, including a Doctorat of Speciality in Parasitology and a State Doctorat in Science at the University of Montpellier, he has held several administrative and scientific positions including:
- Director of Academic and Legal Affairs at the Senegalese Ministry for Higher Education, Research and Innovation;
- Director of Research and Innovation at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar;
- President of the Scientific Council of the Inter-State School of Veterinary Sciences and Medicine of Dakar;
- Member of the Scientific Council of the International Foundation for Science (Sweden);
- Member of the Scientific Council of the Senegalese Institute of Agricultural Research;
- Member of the Scientific Council of the Francophone Protistologists Group (France);
- Member of the Steering Committee of the National Agro-Sylvo-Pastoral Research System (Senegal).
- Member of the National Ethics Committee for Health Research (Senegal).
He is a member of three academies:
- The Senegalese National Academy of Sciences and Techniques
- The African Academy of Sciences
- The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS)
During his career, he has published 131 scientific articles and two books published by the Francophone University Agency. He has supervised 15 PhDs.
