Her research as a neurophysicist focuses on the development of ultra-high field magnetic resonance imaging (UHF-MRI) techniques for the understanding of the fundamental physical principles underlying biological function. Dr. Ciobanu received her doctorate in physics from the Ohio State University in 2002. She then went on to do post-doctoral training in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. After her postdoc, she has held research appointments at the Beckman Institute, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Pfizer, Inc. (Michigan, Ann Arbor). In 2007, she joined NeuroSpin at CEA-Saclay.
